February has been filled with a weekend break to Barcelona, a silent disco at a museum and various other little weekend trips! Here are my highlights for February…
1. Acta Mimic in Barcelona
At the beginning of the month I went on a weekend break to Barcelona with James. The original plan was to go and see The 1975 but unfortunately they cancelled their entire European tour… so instead, we enjoyed a weekend of exploring on foot and hop-on-hop-off bus tours, eating tonnes of paella and plenty of sangria! We stayed at the beautiful Acta Mimic Hotel, just off Las Ramblas, and the review of the hotel will be up soon!
2. Holiday breakfast is the best thing EVER – am I right?!?
Isn’t holiday breakfast just the best thing ever?! For two mornings I enjoyed a full english breakfast, orange juice, sugar glazed doughnuts and a hot chocolate. Holiday hot chocolate always tastes so rich and comforting!
3. Camp Nou FC Barcelona
One of our trips in Barcelona was to the Camp Nou, and surprisingly, I enjoyed it! It was fun to walk around and I especially liked sitting in the press bit – the atmosphere must be incredible when a game is played there.
4. The Sagrada Familia
The most beautiful church I have seen in my life, and probably the best one I will ever see! We bought tickets last minute for this and walked around with our headphones in, listening to the guide and checking out the cathedral. I got some beautiful photos of the interior that I cannot wait to show you!
5. Barcelona Nike t-shirts
I usually class the photos I take as souvenirs, but this time I fancied buying something that reminded me of Barcelona. James and I headed into the Nike store and I saw this super cool t-shirt. It wasn’t until a closer inspection that I realised Nike was made up of historic landmarks in Barcelona – so James and I nabbed one each!
6. Nandos’ sharing platter
If you go to Nandos and don’t order the Boneless Sharing platter – what are you doing with your life?! I can’t get enough of the butterfly chicken and wings in medium sauce, with chips, coleslaw and garlic bread. It’s making me hungry just thinking about it!
7. Silent disco at The Natural History Museum
I went to the Natural History Museum with Jade for a silent disco and it was literally the best night ever. We drank prosecco and danced the night away around the various sculptures and dinosaurs! The headphones had 3 channels so it was great to dance the night away to various different tracks. We danced until 1am, where we got the night tube home and demolished some cold Dominos pizza!
8. Valentine’s Day
It was James and I’s first Valentines together, so we just tried the Tesco Valentine’s meal deal (which was actually really good!) and spent the rest of the evening playing bowling, air hockey and pool!
9. Hot dogs at Top Golf
I’m not usually a hot dog fan BUT these posh dogs at Top Golf were delicious! A soft brioche bun and sausage topped with grilled onions and served with skin-on fries. Not forgetting the oreo milkshake afterwards – it was such a lovely treat!
10. Top Golf in Chigwell
I absolutely love crazy golf and see myself as being pretty competitive, so I thought I’d be pretty good at Top Golf… sadly not. But nevertheless, it was good fun! We’re now lifetime members so I’m looking forward to going again. It’s basically an enclosed golf course where you have to hit the ball as far as possible to get into the various targets which earn you points! Sounds easy in theory but it was actually hard work!
11. Ask Italian desserts
Chelmsford has a new development called Bond Street, and one of the brand new restaurants in the complex is Ask Italian, so my friend and I went one evening to check out the food and have a good catch up! I ate ALL the carbs and definitely felt like a little piggy afterwards, but it was incredibly delicious! This dessert was incredible; three different types of gelato with honeycomb crumbs, biscuits and salted caramel sauce – a chocolate lovers heaven!
12. Hyland’s Park
James and I went for a stroll Sunday lunch time around Hyland’s Park and had lunch in the little cafe, nestled into the woods. It was a lovely chilled afternoon and I can’t wait to go again in the summer to spend long, lazy days there!
February feels like it has absolutely flown past; I’m looking forward to seeing what March has in store for me!
Wow, what a great month! Amazing photos too, I love Barcelona!!
Have a lovely day 🙂

Barcelona is one of my favourite cities – an awesome location to stay in too, I loved wandering Las Ramblas! We also visited Camp Nou (my boyfriend's idea!), and I enjoyed it as well! x
