Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

My favourite launch from the beginning of this year has to be the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, I finally got my mitts on it a few weeks ago and I have been loving it ever since. This gel cream is a hybrid of a BB / CC cream and tinted moisturiser rolled into one. It’s packed with plant-based antioxidants and no nasties like parabens, silicon and oils.

I popped into Debenhams for a colour match as I’m still unsure of what my ACTUAL skin tone is so I find buying online a little unpredictable. This gel cream comes in 10 shades, from Opal (for pinkish cool tones) to Sienna (a dark, neutral-toned brown). I was matched to Vanilla, one of the lighter shades, and find it to be a pretty good match.

Bare Minerals seem to have thought this product out well, as it has SPF 30 and is fragrance free, too.

For days when I can’t be bothered with make-up but still want a “no make-up makeup look” (does that even make sense?!) I always reach for this cream to give me a little boost. It has a fairly sheer coverage, so if like me you have any blemishes or red patches, I find dabbing some concealer onto them first will help. I then squeeze a 20p piece size of the gel cream onto the back of my hand and then buff it into my skin.

I love how it feels on my skin, the texture isn’t too sticky or greasy, and it has definitely made my skin feel a lot softer after wearing it. As you can see, it gives my skin that natural, dewy look, and it’s perfect for warmer weather! (I don’t look impressed with it but I am, promise. #happyhannah)

I’ve been wearing this daily since I bought it and it’s so quick and easy to just pop on and go. It retails at Β£26.00 for a 35ml tube. I ordered this online whilst Debenhams had 16% off all their beauty products – so definitely worth keeping an eye out for deals! I also picked up a Clinique lipstick which I can’t wait to show you guys; it’s a gorgeous “my lips but better” shade. Move over Kylie

Do you use BBs/CCs or tinted moisturisers? Will you give this a try?

Nice review. Oddly I just picked up a sample today, I also haven't a clue on which shade, the lady on the cosmetics counter must of thought I was stupid, had to ask her just pick one for me haha. Do you find it lasts on your skin all day? x

Aw you shouldn't feel stupid at all! It's better to get colour matched than look like a doughnut with a face 2 shades too dark! It definitely lasts all day yes. I'm yet to wear it on its own though, I have to wear a little concealer to cover blemishes etc x

That product sounds fantastic! I haven't ever bothered with BB creams because I use so little foundation anyway (a bottle usually lasts a good 5-6 months). The word 'hydrating' is kind of pulling me in though!

This has been on my wish list for ages but I haven't had time to do any shopping and I want to go and get matched, I know I'll be Opal but I still want to check its light enough. Great post, made me want it even more!

I love the sound of this – I haven't used it but it's definitely something to look into especially as it doesn't feel greasy on the skin and sounds great for warmer months too for a little bit of coverage without the need for foundation!

I love The Body Shops BB Cream as it has little spheres of colour that adapt to your skin tone so that's my favourite one! πŸ™‚
