*New hair do’ with The Strand, Chelmsford

I have to be the fussiest person ever when it comes to getting my hair cut. In the past, I’ve left hair dressers on the brink of tears as I’ve never been happy with my hair. That was until I visited The Strand in Chelmsford last week. 

Feeling slightly weary from an early morning shift at work, (6am starts will never get any easier y’know) I headed over to The Strand and was greeted by a lovely girl at reception. She took my coat and we headed upstairs to an open planned consultation room, where we chatted about work, the weather and plans for the weekend. I felt comfortable as soon as I stepped in, all the ladies were super welcoming and loving, I felt like I’d known them for years! Not long after that, I was greeted by Laura, a junior stylist at the Salon. We got chatting straight away about what I’d like to have done. I’ve never met such an enthusiastic hair dresser before. I had ideas in my mind of what style and colour I liked, and she was able to recreate that for me down to a T. I perused a book of hair colours and styles, and finally decided on a dark brown and light brown.

Throughout the whole process, Laura told me exactly what she was doing and what the process would involve and achieve. I knew I was in safe hands! I had my hair dyed and then had the ends lifted via a toner. Next step, a cut. I had an inch off and a few layers cut in to give my hair some oomf. I have ridiculously thick hair as well so it felt so refreshing having all that weight taken off! When it comes to styling my hair, I always do the bog-standard blow dry and straighten, I never experiment with curling it or styling it. But this time around, with such ease, Laura persuaded me to have a bouncy curly blow dry. I felt a little apprehensive as I don’t like anything out of my comfort zone, but I felt like a new woman. My hair was light, bouncy and fresh, and smelt SO good. I even had compliments whilst walking down the high street!

I can’t thank Laura and all the lovely ladies at The Strand enough. As soon as I stepped into the Salon they were attentive and friendly. I can’t wait to head back there in July! And having HD brows is on my list of things to have done there next.
