Yesterday I attended the #MyChocBloggers event, held by My Chocolate in Islington, London. I went with Charlotte and Nicola, both of whom run beauty blogs and are the loveliest ladies evvvvvvver! After THE longest walk from the “nearest” train station I have ever experienced, (Google lies, an alleged 10 minute walk took us 40 minutes…) we finally found the venue! Inside, the room is open, light and airy, with an entire glass wall opening up to regents canal. The room is adorned with wooden benches, kooky stationary and mason jars filled with decorations.
Hayley then joined us, and we began to taste test high end and low end chocolate. We then sampled some poppyseed and lemon grass white chocolate, then a dark ginger and chilli chocolate. Davis led the class for the day, talking about chocolate, what goes in to making it and giving us tips and tricks along the way. You could see he was genuinely passionate and knowledgable about chocolate.
We were split into pairs and made home made ganache to make mini truffles to take home. Ours looked like something else though… after that, the fun (and mess) began! Two big bowls of chocolate were put on the table, alongside various toppings including white chocolate, caramel crunch and coconut. We decorated our truffles, dunked marshmallows and made wacky artistic pieces out of fudge. Once they all set, we were given little bags and boxes and ribbons to package up our creations!
My Chocolate have also branched out and created The Chocolate Hedgehog, where you can order chocolate making/decorating kits to experience in the comfort of your own home! I really enjoyed the chocolate workshop and encourage anyone who loves chocolate, pretty much everyone, right? to book themselves a session because it’s such good fun!
Myself, Hayley, Charlotte and Nicola went for lunch after and went to explore LUSH Oxford Street, the new flagship store. I may have bought 1, or 2, or maybe more… things, so keep your eyes peeled because I picked up some gooduns’!
Thank you to Lauren for organising the event, and My Chocolate for having us!
Yayyyyy! Had the best day. Hopefully we can all go out again soon x
