August 2018: My Month in Photos

AUGUST 2018 my month in photos

August has been spent going to food festivals, exploring London and enjoy cocktails in the beautiful summer heat we had! It’s time for my month in photos roundup!

I’ve had a really good month – full of driving lessons, passing my theory first time (YAY!) and eating allllll the food obviously! Here’s what I’ve been up to in August.

Essex blogging event at John Lewis

At the beginning of the month, I went to a blogging event at my local John Lewis. I went with the lovely Kerry and met Grace on the night – such a lovely girl! We had a fun evening sipping prosecco, watching mini fashion talks and speaking to a range of cosmetic and travel brands within John Lewis.

Things to see and do in Hamburg

I finally got round to posting my things to see and do in Hamburg post! So if you’re on the look out for a cheap city break, I can certainly recommend a trip to Hamburg. There’s so much to do there and it’s relatively cheap too – keep your eyes pealed for my Hamburg foodie guide coming soon!

Dinerama in Shoreditch

James and I celebrated our two year anniversary this month, so we headed to Shoreditch for a day of eating delicious food and drinks at Dinerama and checking out a number of pubs and cocktail bars! We ate super tasty bao buns and loaded vegan nachos, and sipped on frozen cocktails and coronas. We had a fab day exploring the east end and I put together a guide for things to see and do in Shoreditch for you to follow next time you’re in the area.

Street art in Shoreditch

I loved exploring a different part of London. The quirky street art really caught my eye in particular, especially the decorated tube trains on top of a building.

Rize Festival in Chelmsford

I went to Rize festival for the weekend with James. This was its first year (in replacement of V Festival) and the acts weren’t too shabby considering. My highlight of the weekend was James singing his heart out to Liam Gallagher on the Friday night, surrounded by other people singing and setting off flares!

Eats from the Street foodie festival

I popped down to the Eats from the Street in Colchester with my Dad. I wrote a blog post on the day, but we had a chilled afternoon eating sweet and spicy thai curries, sourdough pizzas and very naughty doughnuts!

Frozen cocktails at street feast Dinerama

The frozen cocktails were delicious and deserved their own post! BUT on this occasion, I put it up to celebrate the fact that I passed my theory test first time – yay! I’ll be honest and say I didn’t revise as much as I should have, but I double checked all my answers and made a few changes at the end and ended up with 43 out of 50 – bang on the pass mark! Next stop: driving test.

Cocktails at Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay is James and I’s favourite go-to bar. The cocktails are crazy strong and they taste even better when it’s during happy hour!! James worked over the bank holiday weekend but we managed to squeeze in a date night one night. We went for dinner at Nandos, watched Blackkklansmen (SUCH a powerful and emotional film) then drank a fair few cocktails. A bank holiday weekend well spent.

Dinner at Byron Burger

I caught up with my best friend over delicious Byron burgers and courgette fries – which are just my favourite things ever! We chatted and chatted, then ate Oreo cheesecake for dessert and it was just AMAZING. Have you tried it before?

August has been a whirlwind of a month as per, filled with driving lessons, gym and loooooots of eating.

I’m off to Cyprus the first week in September, and I’m looking forward to planning some Autumn/Winter bits to do in the coming months!

What did you get up to in August?

Congrats on passing your theory test first time! My August was pretty similar weirdly – my husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary gallivanting around Shoreditch as well! Looking forward to hearing about Cyprus – it’s somewhere I’ve never considered holidaying to but I hope you can twist my arm x
