July has been spent by the sea and various beaches in this beautiful weather! It’s time for my month in photos roundup!
I’ve had a really good month – full of driving lessons, a staycation, watching the World Cup and spending every evening watching Love Island (obviously!). Here’s what I’ve been up to in July.
Frinton-on-Sea
At the beginning of July I went to Frinton with my sister. We bought picnic food then headed down onto the beach for a day of sunbathing. I didn’t reapply my sun cream and managed to get the worst windburn ever ~ and I was bright red for around a week ~ so I’ll learn for next time!!
The Cure at BST Hyde Park
James loves The Cure and he managed to get two tickets for their sold out headlining gig at British Summertime Festival at Hyde Park. In the afternoon we watched the England game in Camden, then headed to Hyde Park for cocktails and festival food before their evening gig! They were great live and I’m so happy I got to see them with James.
Frozen cocktails
I went to Weymouth for the week with James and his Mum and as soon as we got there, we made a beeline for the cute little bar on the beach that served fresh fish and chips and frozen strawberry daiquiris. I miss them already!
Weymouth beach
As it was so hot in Weymouth, we spent most of the week relaxing at the beach or going to the pool. Weymouth beach is absolutely stunning, with warm blue water and super soft sand. There’s so many cute independent shops their too, selling the best ice cream to cool you down.
Bowleaze Cove
We stayed at Waterside caravan park and headed down to Bowleaze Cove most evenings for dinner and drinks. It’s a pebbly beach but a lovely local spot to relax in.
Portland crab salad
We had a day trip to Nothe Fort whilst we were in Weymouth for a day of exploring. After a couple of hours looking around the ex-military fort and harbour, we headed to the cafe for their popular Portland crab salad. It was my first time trying crab but it was really delicious – light and packed with lots of flavour.
View from Nothe Fort
There were various view points from Nothe Fort, overlooking Weymouth bay and the sea. There was a particularly beautiful view point overlooking the harbour, which looked especially beautiful in the beaming sunshine.
Date night
James and I went to Crustacean for a date night in Weymouth. James and I had garlic king prawns to start, then I had crab tagliatelle for dinner and James had baby squid stuffed with curried potato and steamed vegetables. We even managed a sweet treat; James went for the berry brownie and I had the dark chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce.
Beach days
I’v spent around half of July on a beach and its been bliss! We spent our last full day in Weymouth on the beach, then went on a pedalo and had a little paddle in the sea. The water looked so beautiful glistening under the sun, and I think we managed to catch a lovely tan on the water!
Weymouth harbour
We had a little wander around Weymouth harbour during the day and night, and it was equally as pretty both times! We missed the seafood festival by a day, but I’d love to try and go to it next year.
Waffles at The Works
We have a brand new dessert restaurant in Chelmsford called The Works. I have a FULL review coming soon to Hannatalks but my god, was it delicious! Keep your eyes peeled next week for the post!
Wraps at Subway
I’m not a big bread/sandwich fan (other than a nice salt & pepper french stick or tiger loaf) so when I found out Subway now do wraps you can bet I was v happy about it. I tried the chicken caesar and Dad had the steak & cheese – both of which were super delicious.
Even though the heatwave was a little unbearable at times, I hope the warmer weather returns soon. August is set to be a quiet month, other than James and I’s 2 year anniversary and weekend tickets to go to Rize festival!
What did you get up to in July?
Looks like you’ve had such a wonderful time! So many sunny beach days. This weather has just been so amazing 🙂 xx

It was really lovely – I’m missing it this month! I had a great month thank you lovely 🙂
Your July was fantastic. I’ve been to the beach too, kayaking because this is what we like to do. Take care to reapply sun screen, I know I’m not too careful about that too. x
