I’m a creature of habit when it comes to makeup. I love my trusty ol’ No7 foundation but Vichy kindly sent me their Dermablend foundation and setting powder, and here’s how I got on with them…
I’ve never bought a foundation off of the internet before because I’m dubious about what the colour will be like. I was matched up online with 05 – porcelain which as it turns out is too yellow/pale for me. Sob.
I followed the guide that came with the foundation, i.e. suggesting the best way to apply it. It suggested dabbing it on all the problem areas, and then said to use your fingers to blend it in. I always use a brush so I just buffed it in with my RT buffing brush. A small amount went a long way and as you can see, covered my blemishes well!
Once the foundation set, I opened up the setting powder.
The powder comes with it’s own little puff, so I used that to dab the setting powder over my face.
The powder covered my face well and helped to set the foundation in place for a good few hours! I’ve been using the powder ever since, it’s good to pop on top of all of my foundations and leaves my makeup much fresher.
The Vichy Dermablend foundation retails at £18.00 and comes in 8 shades. The setting powder retails at £15.00 and is translucent and lightweight.
Out of the two products, I definitely prefer the setting powder. It’s much more versatile and as it’s translucent, I didn’t need to worry about the colour not matching up with my skin tone!
Have you tried Vichy before? What other products should I try?
*I was sent this product to review.
All thoughts, writing and photographs my own.
It covers your blemishes really well and it looks lovely, even if it is a little yellow-ish. I think it suits you.
Do you have any recommendations for foundations? I use Rimmel but have recently discovered that it is bringing me out in spots.
Great post, very informative!

I'm such a massive fan of the powder, it's amazing but I so wish I could use the foundation but they just don't go pale enough sadly xx

Looks like good coverage, shame it's not the right colour but it still looks nice. I'm terrible at buying make-up online too. Gemma x

I'm also a fan of this duo, even though I don't wear it very often as I tend to go concealer only most of the time. But for spotty phases or when I want my makeup to stay put all day, this duo is perfect. Love how flawless it looks on you x
