I jumped on that Kylie Cosmetics bandwagon and bagged myself Posie K, and boy oh boy, I am so in love with it…
I have to admit that my friend Kayleigh snapped up the lip kits dead on 11pm and I was SO FREAKING HAPPY. They sold out in seconds so when she text me saying she’d got them, I may have got a little too excited. I’ve seen so many bloggers post photos about them and hundreds of tweets saying how good they were, so I wanted to try it out for myself and see if the lip kit was all it was cracked up to be.
Each lip kit contains a matte liquid lipstick and matching lip liner. The packaging is well designed and thought out, it’s quirky and gives the product a really luxurious feel. On first impressions, I was impressed by the product. Considering it costs $29 (£20) I wasn’t expecting it to look or feel as good. It’s pretty cheap considering you’re getting a liner and lipstick!
I ordered Posie K, (after much deliberation and checking out swatches and reviews) which is a dusty, mauve pink shade. As you can probably tell from my Instagram snaps, I tend to wear bright and bold pinks and reds, so this was a little out of my comfort zone. None the less, I popped it on and it was love at first use!
I never use a lip liner usually, but I gave this one a whirl to give myself that totes real Kylie look. It’s super soft on the lips and is really easy to apply. It felt soft on the lips, which I was relieved about because a previous liner I used years ago was really harsh and hard on my lips. The liner is super pigmented, as to be expected, and I think it’s even good enough to be used as a colour on its own.
The matte liquid lipsticks are THE BEST. I’ve never used a matte/liquid/gloss hybrid type product before so I was little hesitant at first, but the effect was amazing; you only need a tiny amount on the brush as a little goes a long way. The texture is light, and glides over the lips and covers it super well. I was worried it would stick to all the dry bits but it didn’t! After a few seconds, the lipstick sets to a completely matte look and you completely forget you’ve even got it on! It lasted on my lips for 6+ hours last Friday night. It battled pitcher sized cocktails, shots and McDonalds… so it’s a winner in my eyes! I use a lip balm from time to time to keep my lips feeling nourished, but other than that it lasts really well on the lips.
The scent is heavenly too. I can only describe it as a vanilla/marshmallow type smell, it’s honestly amazing. I’m so happy with the lip kit overall. It’s pigmented, soft on the lips and well worth the money. So much so, I’m awaiting Candy K to pop through my letter box this week… oops!
With regards to delivering, my friend was able to track it from LA > Heathrow and it arrived in less than a week. We weren’t stung with a customs charge either!
