Dior isn’t a brand that I’ve ever explored; I’ve only ever looked into their perfumes as they’re so luxurious and stylish. That was until I got to explore Dior Addict lipsticks and their new #shinedontbeshy campaign at a VIP event at Intu Lakeside.
I was kindly invited by Charlotte (who I met back in January at the #nyLDNmeet) to be her +1 for the evening. We were greeted with glasses of chilled prosecco and macaroons – which I’ve never tried before, but the chocolate ones were super delicious. There was also a personalised Millie’s Cookie and a stand of delicious personalised Millie’s Cookies cupcakes which were ah-ma-zingggg.
Prosecco in hand, we were shown into the Personal Stylist Lounge where a Dior makeup stand was set up and makeup artists on hand, showcasing the brand new Dior Addict lipsticks with Jennifer Lawrence fronting the #shinedontbyshy campaign. All of the brand new 35 shades were designed with ‘the ultimate fashion accessory’ in mind. The lipsticks are a first for Dior, it’s their first to be made with an integrated hydrating top coat effect. Four unique shades were also made with matching nail varnishes which would be such a lavish gift to receive.
We were seated at a makeup table and given a brief run down of Dior products. Like many other stores now, Dior offer a free Match Made service. This determines your skin tone, which then gives you an idea of what kind of lipstick shades you would suit. You’re then shown a Colour Page, which shows all the different colour families available, i.e. Beige to Brown, Coral, Pink to Purple and Red. Once you chose a family, for example Coral, it then shows you 3 light shades and 2 intense ones. Handy for a day look and night look, eh? As I always wear pinks and reds, I opted to give the nude look a go. Sadly the majority of them made my skin look washed out, but Charlotte looked super lovely in a coral shade. The lipsticks do feel super nourishing and dewy on, and the packaging is gorgeous, but I much prefer pigmented matte colours. I won’t be parting with £26.50 any time soon.
The evening ended with a mini raffle – Charlotte won a full size bottle of the new mens fragrance fronted by Johnny Depp called Sauvage – LUCKY OR WHAT?! – and we all received a gift bag with samples of a variety of products. I’ll pop them up in another post, but it included a lash primer and perfume samples!
The lovely ladies at the Lakeside Personal Stylist Lounge were super lovely and friendly and I look forward to meeting them in the near future. The LPSL offer free 2-hour styling consultations; they find your body shape, find out what trends or clothes you’re into, and go shopping with you to help you pick out some sassy pieces to rock. I’m in need of some TLC so I’ll definitely be booking in soon to have a makeover.
We ended our glam Dior evening in… Five Guys. I was looking forward to their burgers so much because omg a bacon and cheese burger with onions and pickles and tomato sauce is THE BEST.
