11 Reasons Why I Love Autumn & Winter

Autumn and Winter are seasons that I welcome with both arms wide open. I love that you can wear  101 layers, I love being able to buy hot drinks from Costa multiple times a week, I love how it gets dark earlier so indoors feels cosier, and I also love being able to wear black 24/7, but here’s what I’m most looking forward to, including some *CUTE* gifs:

1. Costa coffee Christmas menu:
Does this one even need explaining? Each year the Costa christmas range comes out I am always LOVING LIFE. The exotic hot chocolates and delicious ginger-y treats. Wham bam thank you mam.

2. Oversized cardigans, oversized coats, oversized EVERYTHING:
There’s nothing better than the thought of getting up each day and wrapping yourself up in layers. I could wear the biggest blanket scarf and wrap coat and I’d just be toastie as hell and no one would question it.

3. Lush Christmas range & bubble baths:

I love Lush and their limited edition ranges make me VERY HAPPY. Last year I absolutely loved using Golden Wonder and this year I’ve promised to bulk buy them because they not only smell gorgeous, but look it too. My parents bought me Deck The Halls last year and there’s so many goodies I didn’t use so there’s that.

4. Hearty meals:

Stew. Cottage pie. Home made soup. Roast dinner with ALL the trimmings. Chicken pies. Apple crumble. Christmas cake. Autumn/Winter food is my all time favourite because it’s comforting and warm and everything you dream of when you’re coming home after a long day.

5. Autumn makeup & nail varnish:
I’m looking forward to buying some deep, smokey palettes (Urban Decay Smoky I’m looking at you) and all the berry toned lipsticks and deep red nail varnishes. I much prefer darker more striking looks so I’m looking forward to experimenting with palettes.

6. Halloween:
Last time I celebrated Halloween was in primary school when I went trick or treating and a neighbour dropped a few slimey prunes in my bag. Nice. I want to go to the KISS Haunted House Party this year or even Thorpe Park’s Fright Night. I’m ready to be spooked.

7. Strictly Come Dancing:
My saturday nights all the way until Christmas. The glitz, the glam, the sequins, the spray tans, the dresses… EVERYTHING. I love snuggling up with a chinese takeaway and watching the show because Craig Revel Horwood and his sassy remarks are my fav. FAB-U-LOUS. (Also I just googled him and we share the same birthday. Much cool)

8. Cold, crisp & sunny mornings:
The best kind of autumn/winter weather is waking up on a cold crisp morning where there’s frost on the ground and you can see your breath in the air. And the suns shining but not to the point where you’re sweating buckets – looking at you Summer.

9. Bonfire night
I love watching the fireworks each year on Guyfawke’s day. I just find them really relaxing and fascinating to watch. I’d love to see them in London, Paris or even Disney Land. Can you imagine?!

10. Christmas presents shopping in London:
I love nothing more than being in London at Christmas time. It looks so dreamy all decked out with christmas lights and decorations, and market stalls and pretzel stands. Oxford Street and Covent Garden are my favourite places to check out.

11. Winter Wonderland:

Does this place even need explaining? I flipping love it. Garish lights, rides, market stalls, live music, alcohol, food, ice skating. All the feels. Last year I spent it watching a show, eating nutella crepes, drinking mulled wine and going on the waltzer. Ice skating is calling my name this year!

Am I excited for the next few months? Hell to the yeah. Will I still feel this same when the weather is rainy 24/7, I’ll have forever frizzy hair until February and spiders will practically take over the house?! I’ll get back to you on that one.

Autumn is my favourite month for sure. I definitely love winter, but once Christmas is over, it all feels a little cold, miserable and er, skint. There is literally nothing I hate more than Christmas shoppers in Oxford Circus though! My uni is just round the corner, and I can't stand everybody dawdling and getting in the way!xx
