My August in photos is looking a little… sparse.
I’ve worked pretty much every day throughout August, with a weekend off a few days here and there to myself. It’s also the main reason my posts kinda tailed off towards the end of this month. I missed a day and felt hard on myself for doing that, so I kinda shyed away from anything blog and social media related… With what little spare time I have had, here’s what I’ve been up to on Instagram:
1. Beautiful sunsets
We’ve had a fair few here in Essex this month, despite the miserable rain we’ve been having.
2. Miller and Carter
I don’t think anyone can dispute my love for this steak house. I went there at the beginning of this month for an anniversary meal with my boyfriend of two years. We feasted on a meaty platter full to the brim, steak and an indulgent banoffee pie. Drool.
3. My boyfriend Sandeep and I
Nothing makes me happier than Sandeep. It’s been two years now and I still feel the same as I did on day one. Anyone who has been, or is in, a long distance relationship can relate to how hard it can be; but it’s 100% worth it.
4. Lush FUN What A Softy
What A Softy is one of the products I picked up during my Lush Oxford Street Haul and I absolutely love it! It’s such a versatile bar and smells so heavenly.
5. Friend’s Wedding
My colleague at work got married at the beginning of August and it was such a lovely wedding. She looked absolutely beautiful and my friend’s and I danced the night away with many a Malibu and coke’s in hand.
6. GRWM Wedding Day
I posted a little GRWM Wedding style, (a first here on hannatalks but it seemed to go down well!) where I showed off my all ASOS outfit and curly blow dry from The Strand. I think i’ll wear dresses more often, or at least some more colour, as I’m always in black!
7. Work Drinks
I went out for a night out with my work colleagues to celebrate a birthday and to say goodbye to a supervisor who is leaving. We all took FULL advantage of the buy one get one free offer on cocktails, and I endured a little too many flavoured vodka shots. We ended the night dancing to Sean De Paul at a student night night club. The only way to end a good night, right?!
8. Work Drinks OOTN
A last minute dash to Riverisland saved the day. I wore Riverisland jeans, (my all time fav jeans) a Riverisland white blouse and, you guessed it, a Riverisland jagged clutch bag. I wore my beloved Primark mini wedges but they broke whilst I was out, sob. RIP my trusty ol’ wedges.
9. Fancy M&S lunch in the park
I enjoyed a day shopping with my oldest friend Alice and we shopped and chilled in the park for lunch – once upon a time when we had decent weather. I treated myself to an M&S lunch meal deal but it was so damn expensive! In comparison to other places. I don’t know how London workers can afford this sh*t every day.
10. Miller and Carter. Again
SORRY NOT SORRY for the second trip to M&C this month. This time it was in aid of my sisters GCSE results and I of course opted for fillet and lobster mac n’ cheese. Would you guys expect any less of me?
11. A Day At The Beach
I spent a day at the beach with my parents and of course, I got ridiculously sun burnt. The sea is a little too icky to go into in the UK, so I just chilled on the sand and read LOOK magazine in the sun.
12. No7 Purchases
No7 have an offer running as part of their 80th anniversary celebrations, where you can receive a goody bag if you purchase 2 no7 products. I picked up my free lipstick, in the shade ‘Deep Rust’, which is a deep orangey-red. I can’t wait to wear it this A/W!
September seems to be a little more settled as I’ll be going back to working 3 days a week.
Plus I have 2 weeks off at the end of September – yay! My first break this year.
Aw looks like you have had an amazing time! The food looks amazing!

It looks like you still managed to do a lot despite having to work for most of August. The Deep Rust lipsticks looks really nice, I can't wait to hear what you think of it!

You have cute outfits!

Long distance relationships are hard. My husband and I started off long distance, and it took a while but we not only got together properly, but got engaged, married and now have two wonderful children together.

Long distance relationships are so hard. I was in one and eventually we didn't work, but I still love that person and I appreciate him so much that I just wish the best for him. I'm so happy that you guys are still strong as day one!! xx

I love your outfit for work drinks! I went to River Island a couple of times when I was in London, but didn't see anything I really liked, and the prices were a tad high because of the almost 2:1 conversion to USD. I always see such cute clothes online though!

This is such a lovely idea for a post. It's like a glimpse into your life. That ASOS dress is beautiful, such great shades for autumn. I got one of the LUSH Fun bars for christmas. It's ace just as a body conditioner, and even to shave your legs with!Kirstie | Kimamely Beauty
