Botanics ‘Shine Away’ Mattifying Day Cream SP15

When it comes to searching for the perfect moisturiser, I always look for elements that keep oil at bay and help to balance out my skin. I’ve tried moisturisers that focus on clearing blemishes, keeping oil away and some that aim to control the oil. I’ve used moisturisers from both ends of the scale and never found something that truly suits my skin.

I’ve never tried Botanics skincare products before, so I saw the 3 for 2 offer in Boots on skincare the perfect time to give it a go. Botanics ‘Shine Away’ Mattifying Day Cream retails at £4.99 for a 50ml pot, so I wasn’t expecting it to work miracles. But boy, was I wrong!

This moisturiser is seriously light and fresh on the skin, exactly what I’ve been searching for. It sinks into the skin beautifully and having used it for a good week, I’ve been impressed with the results. It keeps my skin matte and oil-free and I’ve found it works perfectly as a base for foundation, perfect for the humid weather we are currently having! The cream contains clarifying willow bark, which is a natural source of salicylic acid (a spot-fighting ingredient raved about in the beauty industry) to help keep skin clear. Using the cream has helped improve the texture and appearance of my skin and I look forward to using it over the coming months!

Have you tried Botanics skincare range before?

I am so glad that i have read this post, i always just go past this brand in Boots but after reading what you have to say about them, i am actually really interested in buying some of their products and trying the brand out!
The fact that you found that it sinks into the skin in exactly what i want, all the ones that i have feel extremely heavy on the skin(a feeling a absolutely hate).

Sounds great, I've been looking for a skin product that would stop me looking like such an oily mess all the time. Oily skin sucks. SPF 15 as well, it sounds pretty much perfect. I think I'll be picking this up soon! 🙂

The product sounds really great! I'm happy it works for you, and I hope I can find a similar products for dry skin. I really like the fact that it contains sacylic acid, it does wonders on the skin. 🙂 Would you like us to follow each other in GFC and BlogLovin'? I would love to stay in touch and be friends. 🙂

Take care always, love Christine ~ xx

I think I've finally gotten out of the oily skin stage. Learned last year that my skin is "dehydrated," which is different from dry. Dry = not enough oil, dehydrated = not enough water. I learned that hyaluronic acid was my friend! I love Boots Botanics. Can't wait to do a little shopping there this summer.
