Afternoon ladies! I haven’t done a nail post yet as I swap and change my colours WAY too often (far too indecisive). I’m also the type who sticks to what I know brand wise. I don’t tend to experiment with different effects or topcoats, but after being contacted by the lovely Jessica from TheHut.com, I got the chance to try out a *Caviar Effect N.10 – a gorgeous caviar 3D nail art effect that can be created in the comfort of your own home.
I was excited to try out this product as I haven’t used a caviar effect before, and had seen many women sporting the look. The caviar effect is a nice alternative to simple nail varnish and can vamp up any outfit. The bottle that contains the beads is a gorgeous glass structure and very ridged – no chance of breaking! The beads themselves are an aqua colour and are small in size. I was excited to see how the product would look on my nails!
I opted to use this *Caviar Effect on top of OPI varnish in Tickle My France-y. I considered using a complimenting nail varnish colour such as a warm orange, but I wanted the caviar to stand out alone as a statement nail.
After 2 base coats, I tipped the beads out onto a flat surface and pressed my nails against the beads to allow them to stick to my nail. After 30 seconds, I pressed more beads on to cover the whole of my nail. I allowed it to dry for about 10 minutes before adding a glossy top coat. The over all shiny effect looked fun and professional. The process I chose was probably the most awkward one but I found the product hard to use alone. After searching the site, I found a funnel which would make the application a lot easier. It can also be used to filter the beads not in use back into the glass pot.
The caviar stayed on my nails for a couple days, but I noticed beads falling off at times – even though I took extra caution! I personally wouldn’t wear this as a day to day manicure as it’s too easy to knock the beads off. I would personally wear this on a night out or special occasion, it’s classy and attractive. I love the colour of the product and it’s a nice alternative to a glittery top coat. This product comes in a variety of colours and I’m more than inclined to try out the neutral pearl tones!
Although I found applying the beads difficult, (I’m sure my technique needs improving!) I liked how my nail looked once it had dried and the effect looked pretty damn funky! Over all, caviar nails have struck off a nail-passion for me. They’re perfect for special occasions as they make a huge statement and look fantastic. Just don’t expect it to last all week. I would definitely recommend you give them a try, it’s fun to experiment with and for £7.69 it’s hard not to pick up more than one colour!

I've tried Caviar nails before and I agree they look great for about a day before they start falling off and getting caught on sweaters and stuff! Great for a special occasion though!
