AD | Greek Cooking with Jet2: #JetMe2theGreek

Greece is probably one of the most beautiful islands I’ve been to. The sand is soft, the sea is crystal blue and the weather is hot hot hot! Not forgetting they have the best cuisine, including Souvlaki, Tzakiki, Baklava, Moussaka and a traditional Greek salad….. the list goes on!

Jet2 invited me to their #JetMe2theGreek event last month to celebrate the two new Greek destinations they are launching for 2020, so to celebrate the occasion, we cooked a giant Greek feast and drank wine to celebrate the addition of Lefkas and Parga!

Greek Cooking with Jenius Social Kitchen

Jenius Social Kitchen lead the cookery class for us all, teaching us all how to make a traditional Greek salad, stuffed tomatoes and peppers, stuffed spinach and riccota filo pastries, chicken souvlaki skewers and tzakiki.

We prepared the dishes together with the help of Jenius Kitchen’s chefs who were super friendly, fun and attentive! The dishes were fun to make and I’d certainly love to re-create them at home. My personal favourite was the stuffed spinach and ricotta filo pastries – they were a little fiddly to make first of all but we soon got the hang of it. We brushed them in butter before popping them in the oven as well, which gave them a super delicious crunchy bite.

We had a beautiful little Greek table laid out for us all in the other room, where we all enjoyed the food we had created and generous glasses of wine. I usually LOVE taking photos but I tucked into this almost instantly so I don’t have the most glamorous foodie pics to show you – but believe me when I say it was a huge delicious Greek feast!

Comfortably stuffed with delicious Greek food, we had a mini Greek-inspired quiz which I failed miserably at…. fingers crossed next time I’ll be more successful! Flag: Greece on Apple iOS 12.2Flag: Greece on Apple iOS 12.2Flag: Greece on Apple iOS 12.2

Jet2’s brand new Greek holiday destinations

The delicious Greek food we made was created to celebrate Jet2’s new Greek destinations for 2020; Lefkas and Parga.

Lefkas

Lefkas

Lefkas is a laid-back haven with untouched beaches, turquoise waters and dreamy wild olive groves. It’s a slightly busier destination than Parga as more tourists know about this beautiful destination. With rocky headlands, dramatic landscapes and stunning blue sea, it’s the perfect destination for beach lovers. Lefkas has an authentic Greek-village feel, with narrow cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses. Lefkas offers a little something for everyone; whether you’re looking for a destination with unspoilt nature, a lively evening out or soft white beaches for sunbathing all day on.

There are plenty of resorts in Lefkas to stay at, and there are a number of fantastic fresh fish and seafood restaurants which line the bay. If you’re looking for simple essentials, souvenirs or locally-produced products, Lefkada Town is the place to go!

Parga

Parga

Parga is a town in northwestern Greece, known for its natural environment. The picture-perfect beach town is a coastal town wrapped in pine-clad mountains. The glitzy buzzing harbour is cocooned by terracotta-roofed houses and stunning untouched mountains. You’ll find unspoiled sandy beaches, pebble beaches and coves here, which are perfect for swimming in! The harbour ripples with life during the day and in the evening, the bars, taverns and restaurants are popular with locals and holidaymakers.

When you fly into Preveza with Jet2, you’re within reaching distance of both Lefkas and Parga; the only decision now is which one to book for Summer 2020!

I really want to visit Greece, and I love the look of both of these. How amazing that Jet2 now flies there too! The event looks like it was so much fun too xx
