I love writing these kinds of posts because it reminds you of just how much you did in a month; which by the looks of it was a lot more than I was expecting!
I’ve had a really good month – full of meals out, day trips and some quality time spent with my boyfriend and friends. Here’s what I’ve been up to in April.
Hoisin duck pizza at Wildwood
I went to Wildwood this month for a girly dinner and cinema trip, and after February’s successful hoisin duck pizza – I just had to order it again! Thankfully it was just as delicious as before, and I polished it off with a side of sweet potato fries. We went to the cinema after this and watched Blockers – such a funny film! So funny in fact I saw it again later in the month with James – and would happily watch it again and again!
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
As part of Mum’s birthday treat, we went to the Harry Potter studios for the evening to view the film sets, props and drink butter beer! We all had a fab time and I of course took lots of photographs – including the stunning model of Hogwarts used to film the cut away scenes.
Breakfast at Bill’s
I’ve never had a breakfast out (am I even a legit blogger???) so I went to Bill’s this month for an early breakfast before doing a bit of shopping. I ordered the full English with the potato hash brown and a fresh watermelon juice – and it set me up well for a day of spending.
Mum’s birthday
Mum celebrated her big 5 0 this month! <3 It started with a trip to Harry Potter’s world, and then we planned a surprise day out – which turned out to be Cambridge! We ate lots, went punting, went out for dinner and had a big slice of cake when we got home. A well planned day for sure!
Breakfast at Cafe Foye
We had breakfast in Cambridge at a lovely little cafe called Cafe Foy. My parents had a crispy bacon brioche roll, my sister had a slice of gooey chocolate vegan cake and I had a giiiiiiiant croissant and oat milk hot chocolate. It was a fab little find on the River Cam – and one that had been opened a matter of days! If you ever find yourself in Cambridge, I definitely recommend a trip here. The toasties look insane too.
Punting on the River Cam
Another experience of the day was punting on the River Cam. It was a super relaxing and peaceful experience, and our tour guide was really friendly and knowledgable. I’d love to go back in the Summer to spend a lazy evening sunbathing on the river.
Afternoon tea at The Varsity Hotel
The final experience of the day was afternoon tea at the Varsity Hotel. We had lovely panoramic views over Cambridge, and the afternoon tea was delicious and filling. If you’re looking for an afternoon spot in Cambridge, The Varsity Hotel is the place to go.
A day trip to Cambridge
We all had a relaxing day exploring Cambridge and the beautiful cobbled streets, eating sweet treats and relaxing on the River Cam. I can’t wait to visit Cambridge again in the Summer, to visit all the lovely beer gardens and outside eateries.
Tango ice blast and pick n’ mix popcorn
James and I had a date night to the Odeon and saw Blockers – AKA the best bloody film out so far this year! We bought Tango ice blasts and minstrel-topped popcorn to enjoy whilst the film was on – the best treat to enjoy whilst watching a film.
Breakfast fritters
Once of my goals for 2018 was to learn how to cook more – and I’ve given it a good go this month. For breakfast one morning, I made sweetcorn and chilli fritters with bacon, grilled tomatoes and a tomato salsa. Super delicious and super easy to make!
Dinner at Bill’s
I had a girly night with Mum this month; we went to the cinema to see Avengers: Infinity War and then went for dinner at Bill’s. The film was an easy watch (although I was a little confused as I haven’t seen the other films…) but the concept and graphics and actions were amazing. We went for dinner at Bill’s after and I had their Bill’s burger – buttermilk chicken goodness!
Creamy mushroom & prawn pasta
I cooked another meal from scratch this month, the super easy creamy mushroom and prawn pasta Slimming World recipe. It was surprisingly easy to make and tasted really, really good! We had cheesy garlic bread with it (which I imagine isn’t very Slimming World…) but who can have pasta and not eat garlic bread with it?!
Here’s hoping for the return of warmer weather in May! How was your April?
Happy birthday to your mother! It looks like she had a lovely day, what is wonderful.

Aww thanks, Anca! it was a great day out 🙂
Yum! Looks like you’ve had a really lovely month. I’ve only been to Wildwood once as they don’t have it here in Wales but it was amazing! xx

Sounds like a fab month! I really want to do the Harry Potter tour, despite never having seen a HP film…..I know! That pasta looks amazing too, but the cheesy garlic bread bit made me laugh x
