It’s hard to believe that the first month of 2018 is *almost* over and done with – although I’m glad, because it’s been a dull month and I’ve been hibernating as it’s been almost 6 weeks until pay day! I have managed to do some lovely things this month though, including my birthday and celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. ๐
My birthday
I celebrated my 22nd birthday at the beginning of the month. I think it was my first “adult” birthday as I went to work and didn’t really do anything for it. I was meant to go ice skating with James but my birthday was tinged with sadness as James had to have his cat put down ๐ She was such a beautiful cat, and will be sorely missed!
Dinner at Las Iguanas
I had a really lovely birthday dinner at Las Iguanas with my family; we ordered cocktails and ate really delicious starters and mains. We visited the brand new branch in Chelmsford and it had a great vibe – I can’t wait to visit again!
Fresh roses
James bought me a bunch of roses and they looked beautiful in my new room set up. They lasted a good few weeks as well and smelt really fresh. I love having a bunch of flowers in my room to brighten the place up. <3
XPlus screen launch at Showcase Bluewater
James and I attended the Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater launch to check out the newly refurbished XPlus screens. We ate canapรฉs and sipped on mocktails, then sat down and relaxed in the fully reclinable leather chairs with popcorn to watch Downsizing. I wouldn’t recommend watching Downsizing but I WOULD recommend checking out the new XPlus screens – they’re seriously impressive!
Slimming World katsu curry
One of my goals for 2018 is to learn to cook more. So this month, I made aย slimming world katsu curry for dinner (one of my favourite meals) and it went down an absolute treat! I’ve been following a few Joe Wicks recipes too and I’ve enjoyed following those. I’m looking forward to making more Slimming World recipes as they’re so easy to follow and taste amazing.
Freddie’s Flowers
I worked with Freddie’s Flowers this month and received the most beautiful bouquet of stunning flowers. It’s an easy to use subscription service where you can receive a bunch of flowers each week for a set price – well worth treating yourself if you love fresh flowers!
Andi Walker launch at Riverside Inn
I attended the Andi Walker launch event at Riverside Inn this month and had a great evening sampling delicious butternut squash bhajis, monkfish bites and marmite on bread! I drank bubbly with my friend Grace and met a super lovely Essex blogger girl (This Essex Girl)! If you live in Essex and fancy eating somewhere a little more up market, I’d definitely recommend a trip to the Riverside Inn.
Swingers Crazy Golf
It was James’ birthday this month, so instead of presents I surprised him with a few trips in London. The first trip was to Swingers Crazy Golf. We went on the Windmill course and had a competitive game of crazy golf (James bloody won as per) and sipped cocktails as we went round the course. We ended the night with a sharing platter in Nandos and wine <3
Cocktails at The Shard
The second surprise on Saturday was a trip to The Shard. We sipped cocktails and watched London unfold under our feet. It was a shame the weather wasn’t great but we still had some half decent views! I really want to visit at night time, and I really want to book the Time Out silent disco at The Shard – how amazing would that be!?
Dinner at The Alchemist
The third and final surprise was dinner and (more) cocktails at The Alchemist! We had the most beautifully presented starter, with pulled pork bonbons, mac n’ cheese bites and nachos, and sipped on smoky, bubbly cocktails all afternoon.
Travelling with C2C
I worked with C2C on a campaign this month, showcasing just how easy and stress-free it is to travel straight into London, and showcasing just how much you can do in a day! I’ll have a blog post soon about my day in London – so keep your eyes peeled ๐
Starbucks treats
I treated myself to a signature Starbucks hot chocolate and chocolate muffin this month – it’s the little things! It set me up for a day exploring and certainly gave me my chocolate fix!
I don’t have any plans for February yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the month may hold! ๐
ain’t nothing better than fresh roses! they always cheer me up ๐
im going to swingers this saturday for a friends birthday! am definitely going more the cocktails and less for the golf…haha!

It’s been a nice month considering! ๐ just sad that everything’s okay for another year already haha!
I’m so sorry for the cat. I know how hard it is to lose a pet.
Lovely to read about everything else. Flowers, cocktails, and celebrations, that’s so nice.
