January: My Month In Photos

I have had an incredible start to 2017; January has been jammed full with birthday celebrations, afternoon tea, a holiday to Budapest and blogger events! Here are my highlights for January…

1. My Birthday

I turned 21 on the 4th January, and have been spoilt rotten this month! I was treated to an overnight stay at the Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Essex where I had the most relaxing spa treatment and delicious evening meal, followed by a day of swanning around the spa in our robes and slippers, dipping in and out of the pools! I had a lovely evening meal at Bill’s on my birthday, and have been treated to various afternoon teas this month; what can I say, I just love cake!

2. Lifehouse Spa & Hotel

Mum & I stayed at the Lifehouse Spa & Hotel overnight and had such a lovely time. The spa and hotel are absolutely beautiful; it’s located a short drive away from Frinton-on-Sea and is nestled into acres of gardens and greenery. We spent the first day in the pools and jacuzzis, walking around the spa and feeling ultra chilled. We had a meal in the evening which I’m still craving – it was the most delicious medeterranian lasagna and garlic bread. The next morning we had breakfast, chilled in the pools all day and I had a facial and head massage booked. The whole trip left us feeling super chilled out.

3.Oreo birthday cake

I had an oreo birthday cake made for my 21st and it was delicious; who doesn’t love chocolate cake?!

4. Afternoon tea at Bourgee

My friend Grace treated me to afternoon tea at Bourgee and it was incredible! It was served in a little grassy-box, and we had lobster bagels, sausage rolls and steak and caramelised onion on brioche. For sweet treats, we had warm cinnamon doughnuts, crisp coated fruits, cake and plenty of prosecco!

5. Budapest

I went to Budapest with my friend Jade for a long weekend and literally had the best weekend, EVER. We did over 55k steps in two days and experienced so much! I’m in the process of writing a ’72 hours in Budapest’ post but, we went to Szchenyi Thermal Baths, on two bus tours, visited Buda and Pest, went to a Ruin bar, went on the metro, a night bus tour and other touristy trips!

6. Prestige Budapest Hotel

During our stay at Budapest, we stayed at the Prestige Budapest Hotel and it was the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a few minutes walk away to the Chain Bridge, so we had beautiful views of the river Danube and the city. We ordered room service breakfast one morning which was super delicious, and took advantage of the jacuzzi room! If you’re thinking of going to Budapest, I’d 100% recommend a stay here!

7. The Impractical Jokers at The 02

I went to the 02 with my sister to see The Impractical Jokers UK tour. We absolutely love the American show and their pranks always have me in stiches, but the tour wasn’t as funny – still, it was good to see them live! The stand-up set was funny, and they even filmed exclusive London prank content which was bloody hilarious.

8. Afternoon tea at Lady Dinah’s Cat Eporium

My sister surprised me with a visit to Lady Dinah’s Cat Eporium, which was the sweetest surprise! We spent the evening looking around the cat cafe and cooing and ahhing over them. We ordered popcorn tea, dark hot chocolates and brownies to tuck into during the evening. I was treated to the cutest little birthday package as well, that included a card, limited edition mug and the cutest red velvet cupcake.

9. Split at Empire Cinema

I love going to the cinema, it’s one of my favourite hobbies. As soon as I saw the trailer for Split, I knew I had to go and see it. So, J and I went to Empire to watch it one weekend, armed with tango ice blasts and sweets. The film was a pretty good psychological-thriller and it was easy to follow, it’s just a shame the ending was a little silly…

10. Homesense bloggers event

I was invited to a Homesense blogger event this month and had a fab evening with my favourite Essex blogger, Charlotte from withlovelottie. We browsed the new Spring collections; ahhing and oooing at all the cute flamingo lamps, pineapple stands, patterned bowls and super-soft furnishings. We were kindly gifted a voucher and I bought the cutest mug, jewellery pot, journal and photo album.

11. Icebar in London

It was J’s birthday this month, so I surprised him with a visit to the Icebar in London. It was a lovely chilled out afternoon; we had cocktails in the bar, then donned on our quilted coats and gloves for a trip to the -5 degrees bar! We had a few cocktails and looked around the ice bar. The theme at the moment is Jungle in the City, so there’s some great carvings of animals and nature to check out! We rounded up the trip with a visit to Hamleys, where we had the most delicious milkshakes ever.

12. TENA bloggers event

I went to the TENA Lights bloggers event at the Haymarket hotel at the weekend with the lovely Laura from laurasbeautybinge, and it was just a fab event from start to finish. The Myriad PR ladies are the nicest, most welcoming people ever, and they put on a great afternoon. We lounged by the pool with our champagne, (which was constantly being topped up I must add!) and had brunch at the most beautifully decorated table. We then had a presentation on TENA Lights and their new campaign, followed by a perfume masterclass workshop where we got to make our very own perfumes!

So January has been pretty packed, but thankfully February is looking a little calmer. So far, I’ve got a trip to Barcelona booked and a silent disco at The Natural History Museum!

If you blog about your month in photos, please leave your links as I love having a snoop!

A very happy belated birthday, I turn 21 soon and I'm still stumped on what to do for it. I'm thinking possibly an escape room, I did one a few years ago and loved it! And impractical jokers, I freakin love the show!! Have a lovely week 🙂
