No7 Stay Perfect Foundation

Cue the best foundation for oily/combination skin.

I was a big lover of Cliniques Stay Matte foundation {reviewed here} and couldn’t sing my praises high enough for the foundation last year. But up until a month ago, it started to look cakey and patchy on my skin. No matter what primer I used or technique I used to apply it, it still looked appalling on my skin. I still don’t understand why, please comment if you do! I popped into Boots as I’d heard how good their foundations were and how they could colour-match you to find the perfect shade. After a quick consultation I was matched up to Calico, one of the 17 shades available.

With my colour match sorted, I browsed the No7 counters for “the one”. I eventually chose the Stay Perfect range; perfect for oily/combination skin with a medium coverage. I use a primer to prep my face first, and then dispense a small amount of the foundation onto the back of my hand. I buff it into my skin using the Real Techniques buffing brush and my skin has a healthy glow to it. It’s a lot lighter on the skin than my previous Clinique foundation and a little goes a long way.

At just Β£14.50 a bottle I found it easy to part with my money! It reaps loads of benefits too, like being weather proof/transfer proof and preventing the skin from becoming cakey/flakey. Rejoice combination skin ladies, this is your new holy grail.

What foundation do you use for oily/combo skin?

I like the fact that they matched your shade, makes it more professional than browsing for ages on your own. Also, 17 shades is really impressive for a drugstore brand, I`ll definitely check this foundation. In the summer I use the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation, it`s quite good.

This sounds so good, I've been on the hunt for a foundation that I'll love recently. I've been using the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude one and Rimmel Stay Matte and I like them both for different reasons but Im not totally sold. Emma x Writing Essays With Wine

I swear by Estee Lauder Double Wear but I know some people find it too heavy. I like the Chanel Perfection Lumiere for lighter everyday use but it's pricey so I only buy it at the duty free! Been years since I tried a No7 foundation, might see if I can get a sample of it x

I want to try their foundations, but I am always in and out of the store and they No7 assistants are never around, but after reading this, I will definitely have to go when I have time to wait.

This sounds so lovely! I hate when foundations you've used forever somehow stop looking as nice! I'm always on the hunt for a new foundation so definitely want to pick this up xx
