March: My Month in Photos

hannatalks march in photos

March you odd little month, you have absolutely flown by. I’ve had little outings to London, plenty of time eating cake and a trip to the West End to enjoy this month…

For the first time since I started blogging about my month in photos, I only just managed to scrape together 12 photographs for this months review. It’s mainly because I totally fell out of love with Instagram this month. I wasn’t interested about opening the app, I didn’t have anything to take photographs of and I wasn’t really doing anything. And so I fell into this kind of social media black hole where I was like nope, I’m having a break.

So that’s what I did, I didn’t really check it for a week and now I’m warming to Instagram again – hurrah! Here’s what I’ve been up to this month.

Next Homeware

I went to Next in Enfield with James to have a little look around. Their homeware is amazing, I loved all the photo frames, vases and faux plants. There was yellow everywhere so I’m guessing that’s the in-colour for Spring! I picked up a couple of super cute blouses to wear in the warmer weather, and bought some room diffusers and they just smell so lush.

Ask Italian in Chelmsford

This was a throwback photo to the amazzzzing meatball pasta I had at Ask Italian. I can’t wait to go back and try their chocolate bombe dessert!

Bubblewrap Waffle in London

Jade and I spent 2 hours queuing for a Bubblewrap Waffle in China Town in London one Friday night, and I think it’s just about the maddest thing we’ve ever done. After queuing for 2 hours, we finally got to try the bubble waffles; they were delicious but sadly not worth a 2 hour wait. But then again, what is even worth waiting that long for?!

Giraffe in Chelmsford

James and I were invited to Giraffe in Chelmsford to try out their new World Food menu and the food was just so delicious. I’m still thinking about their chicken yak gyozas and Katsu chicken! If you have a Giraffe restaurant nearby, I’d 100% recommend a trip there.

Flower Market in Chelmsford

Every weekend there’s a market in town, and I walked past this stand and couldn’t resist snapping a photo. I actually went back and picked up some beaut pink and cream tulips. They certainly did the trick of brightening up my room!

Tetley Indulgence Flavour Blends

Tetley kindly sent their brand new Tetley Indulgence Flavour Blends teabags and it was a lovely surprise. I was especially surprised with how nice the Cookies & Cream flavour was. Would definitely recommend this black tea blend as a low calorie sweet treat.

Patisserie Valerie in Chelmsford

My Nan came up from Somerset and stayed with us for a couple of days to celebrate her birthday. We popped into town and celebrated with cake and hot drinks in the new Patisserie Valerie in Chelmsford. I went for the chocolate mousse & salted caramel cake with a caramel hot chocolate and omg, CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD. But it was so worth it!

IKEA Homeware

James and I went to IKEA for the evening and I ended up buying candles, photo frames and kilner jars – ever the cliche. We browsed the various levels of decorated rooms and then had meatballs, chips and lingonberry jam. Not forgetting some blueberry froyo. IKEA food you da BEST.

The Book of Mormon

We headed into London this week to see Book of Mormon as a late birthday present for James and oh my god, it was SUCH a good musical. I’m finding myself listening to the soundtrack now, it’s just so good! It’s written by the creators of South Park, so it’s a satirical musical, it’s so crude and so, so funny. I’d 100% recommend a trip to see it!

The Ideal Home Show

I’ve never been to The Ideal Home Show before, but we went earlier this week for a couple of hours and it was good fun. It’s held in Olympia in London and there is so much to explore, including homeware, beauty, gadgets, interior and food. We picked up a couple of goody bags on the way round and then headed home. It’s a great little day out and there’s loads to explore and buy.

Oreo Double Muffins

The only thing I did treat myself to at the Ideal Home Show, (well tried to, they didn’t take card so James’ mum Sue jumped in, ty Sue!) was an oreo double muffin and James had a giant hundreds-and-thousands doughnut. The oreo muffin was massive and so rich, but it was a great treat that lasted me a couple of days. I’m sad I didn’t get the name of the bakery, but their stand is in the food hall area upstairs!

Easter Displays

John Lewis have gotten me into the Easter spirit with their super cute Easter display, jam packed with table decorations, toys and food. I don’t really do anything for Easter but I’d love to go on an Easter egg hunt and make some Easter treats this year!

I’m excited for April because of the two bank holidays and hopefully Spring will be edging in some more. I’m also off to Pisa at the end of April – better start planning!

P.s I almost forgot.

This month Pipdig migrated my blog over from Blogger to WordPress and I am SO much happier with it. I hope you love the layout just as much as I do!

Gorgeous photos. Was moving to WordPress confusing at first? I`ve been meaning to do it for ages, but I am not that great with technology and I`m worried that I might find WordPress too difficult.
