December: My Month In Photos

December has once again been jammed packed with visiting new restaurants, going to concerts and getting ready for Christmas…

2016 has been fairly kind to me, but I’m looking forward to seeing what 2017 has in store for me.

I’m looking forward to visiting new countries, doing exciting things and learning more in my apprenticeship next year!

But for now, here’s what I’ve been up to in December…

1. Cold, crisp winter mornings

The weather was so lovely at the beginning of the month, especially those super crisp, cold mornings where the sun was shining and the skies were bright blue. A stark comparison to now; misty, damp and foggy mornings are all we seem to be having in Essex…

2. Hotel Chocolat advent calendar from Intu Lakeside

Intu Lakeside kindly gifted me this Hotel Chocolat advent calendar at the Intu Christmas Event last month. It’s the first time I’ve tried Hotel Chocolat chocolate, and I really enjoyed it!

3. James’ Christmas tree

It was my first Christmas with James, and his house was decorated so beautifully for Christmas! I especially loved the Christmas tree. They had a real one this year, and had little orange incense sticks which made the tree smell even nicer.

4. No7 Beauty Haul Colour Vault

I won’t give away too any details as I’ve gone into depth on it on the blog post, but, I bought the No7 Beauty Haul Colour Vault in the Black Friday sales and I absolutely love it! I’m looking forward to having a play with the makeup, especially the lipsticks; they’re all nude/pink and looks so beautiful.

5. The Cornish Christmas tree!

I’m sat admiring our Christmas tree as I type this… it just looks so darn cute! This year, we’ve gone for twinkling coloured lights, with a selection of Christmas decorations, including wooden snowman, knitted Santa outfits, gingerbread men, glass baubles and glittery snow flakes.

6. The 1975 at The 02, London

I went to go and see The 1975 at The 02 in London with James this month and had the best night, ever. It was my 4th time seeing them, and this show was just incredible from start to finish. I have never cried at a concert before but, Matt Healey sang with such emotion that I couldn’t help but cry a few times!! If you’d like to listen to the concert, they have released a full recording here.

7. Decorating gingerbread houses

I spent the day decorating gingerbread houses’ with James and my sister, which was good fun. We thought it would be a good idea to smash the house afterwards though so, I volunteered. Fast forward a few weeks and my wrist is still numb from smashing the house…!

8. Christmas Day at Miller and Carter

After such a good Christmas meal at Miller and Carter last year, we all had Christmas dinner there  again this year. It was a 5 course meal and we were all left feeling super full but super content. I had a lobster and avocado tortilla starter, followed by a champagne sorbet, a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, a chocolate trio dessert and a peppermint tea with a macaroon!

9. What I Opened On Christmas Day

I was spoilt this Christmas and loved every single gift I was given. Especially the thoughtful ones from my family! It was so lovely being able to give presents too, and see a smile on a loved ones face as they open it. James truly spoilt me for our first Christmas together, very lucky girl indeed!

10. HipChips in Soho

I visited HipChips in Soho to review this chips n’ dips and I’m excited for you guys to read the review in the New Year!

11. Christmas lights at Kew Gardens

I went to the Kew Gardens Christmas light display at the weekend with my friend Jade and had such a lovely time. We walked the mile long trail and took plenty of photographs, sipped on hot drinks, toasted marshmallows on an open fire and I went on a carousel for the first time!

12. Baileys hot chocolate

I love hot chocolate but I’ve never tried a Baileys hot chocolate before, so I treated myself to one at Kew Gardens and it tasted SO good – I can’t wait to have another one!

Love your photos. The tree looks so cute and with the orange sticks must smell lovely. I had tree-smelling sticks (maybe the same brand) in my artificial tree and it made a difference.

    Happy New Year! xx
