December 2017: My Month in Photos

December 2017 my month in photos hannatalks

It’s hard to believe that 2017 is actually done and dusted. It’s been an eventful year, but here are myΒ topΒ InstagramΒ moments in December! πŸ™‚

Winter Wonderland

It wouldn’t be Christmas without an obligatory visit to Winter Wonderland now, would it? I went to Winter Wonderland at the beginning of the month with friends, taking a ride on the big wheel and drinking super delicious Bailey’s hot chocolates. It was a great start to the month, my only wish is that I get to go more in 2018!

Christmas tree decorating

One weekend, James and I went Christmas tree shopping at a local garden centre. We picked the perfect one, and spent the afternoon decorating the tree with glistening baubles and twinkling fairy lights. I just love James’s home at Christmas, it’s so homely and warming with the Christmas decor scattered around the rooms, and the constant flow of sweets and Bailey’s! πŸ˜‰

Bailey’s hot chocolates

Say no more: aren’t Bailey’s hot chocolates just the best hot drinks ever? I’ve consumed far too many this month – they’re just so good! I even picked up a bottle of Salted Caramel Baileys in Duty Free – and I’m on the hunt to stock up on some more ASAP.

Prague Castle

James and I went to Prague at the beginning of the month, for a short 3-day Christmassy break around the city. Prague Castle was definitely a highlight of the trip. It’s the biggest castle in the world in fact! We barely scratched the surface with this castle, but it was enjoyable to walk around and we stumbled on some lovely little Christmas markets whilst we were there.

Prague street food

The food in Prague was incredible. We ate at street food stands, traditional restaurants and quirky little eateries, but the hot dogs we bought at Prague Castle were incredible. I had a chorizo sausage in a brioche bun, scattered with fried onions and garlic mayo.

John Lennon Wall in Prague

The John Lennon wall in Prague was another fantastic place to visit on our trip to the city. After a few photos beside the wall, we stumbled on a John Lennon themed pub. We drank hot drinks to warm up, and looked at all the quirky decor inside the pub – including London Underground signs, telephone box toilets and English posters!

Christmas market at Old Town Square

The Christmas market at Old Town Square in Prague was just incredible, and certainly the best one we’d visited during our time there. The enormous tree stood proudly in the centre, decorated with thousands of twinkling lights and ornaments. We enjoyed hot honey wine and a chimney cake, and soaked up the atmosphere. It certainly got us in the Christmas spirit.

Annie the musical

I me up with the girls from Uni for a Christmas treat to see Annie the musical. The show was certainly eventful (thanks to a very obnoxious drunk crowd!!) and we could barely see the stage from our seats – but it was still good fun!

Costa Christmas drinks

I’m going to miss these drinks once their gone – especially the Billionaire’s hot chocolate. Crazy sickly and sweet, but very, very delicious.

Reindeer cupcakes

I got my bake on and made these quirky little reindeer cupcakes, thanks to Harriet’s easy to follow recipe! They went down an absolute treat at work, and they were good fun to make – especially spray painting the sweet pretzels gold.

Christmas Day in Somerset

This year, we spent Christmas Day in Somerset with my family. We enjoyed Christmas lunch out, and spent the afternoon vegged out on the sofa snoozing! It was lovely to see my little cousins too, who enjoyed taking part in the pop up Photo Booth we brought with us!

Boxing Day sale buys

I usually try to dodge the sales, but I went to Westfield and treated myself to a new faux-suede jacket from Primark, and various makeup bits and perfume from Boots.

December has been busy and exciting and once again, full of food and exploring.

I hope 2017 was a good year for you, and that 2018 is EVEN better!

Happy New Year! πŸ™‚

Ah I loved reading this, it made me feel all Christmassy again (still trying to claw the feeling back!) Your trip to Prague sounds incredible, I wish we’d planned a trip this Winter too! After Budapest last January I feel kinda cheated not having anywhere to go this year haha xxx
