October 2017: My Month in Photos

hannatalks october 2017 month in photos

October has been a busy month and I am SO excited to do Autumnal things (and Christmassy things!) in November.ย Here are my topย Instagramย moments in October!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Marks and Spencers percy pig cake

It was my Dad’s birthday at the beginning of the month, so Mum bought him a Percy Pig chocolate cake and it was super chocolatey, rich and indulgent. Marks and Spencers just do the best cakes, don’t they?!

ASK Italian Chelmsford

ASK is becoming a firm favourite of mine since it’s arrival in Chelmsford last year. I caught up with some old work friends for an evening of pasta and cocktails, and it was so relaxing! The tropical mojito is my favourite cocktail at ASK – a beautiful concoction of gin and tropical fruits. You can book a table here!

Oktoberfest in Essex

Oktoberfest came to Chelmsford for the weekend so James and I decided to buy tickets for the Saturday afternoon slot for some beer, bratwurst and fun! The hot dogs were delicious and the fruity cider even more so, and it was a great atmosphere to drink in for the afternoon.

Bill’s cocktails

I recently won a ยฃ150 voucher for Bill’s, so I headed to my local one with my family to celebrate Dad’s birthday. We ate delicious starters, comforting mains and sweet desserts, and ordered quirky cocktails such as the English Country Garden – my personal favourite! A delicious combination of Beefeater Gin, raspberry and rosehip infusion, pink grapefruit cordial, Billโ€™s Pink Lemonade, raspberries and rose petals!

The Impractical Jokers at the 02

I originally bought tickets for my sister’s birthday but as she’s away at Uni, I treated Dad to an evening of fun at The Impractical Jokers stand up set at The 02. It was a great night and I found this tour even funnier than the one I saw in January – I can’t wait to see them all again.

Afternoon tea and cocktails at Royal Hotel Southend

I was invited to an Essex blogger’s event at Royal Hotel Southend for an afternoon of afternoon tea and cocktails, and exploring the wonderful listed Georgian terrace building. The afternoon was delicious and the cocktails incredible, so it’s well worth a visit if you ever find yourself in Southend!

Ballie Ballerson

I met up with my Uni girls and spent the evening at Ballie McBallerson, an adult indoor glow-in-the-dark ball pit with retro cocktails and nostalgic music. It was a fun evening and great to take advantage of the cheap Time Out London tickets.

Halloween baking with Homesense

Homesense kindly sent me a ยฃ20 voucher and tasked me with creating a Halloween recipes post, so I headed up to the baking section and bagged myself loads of Halloween baking moulds and decorations. I had fun decorating the cakes and have one very patient and helpful boyfriend to ice the delicate parts!!

Bloom & Wild flowers

October marks the completion of my Digital Marketing apprenticeship and I was luckily offered a permanent place too – yay! James sent me these beautiful Bloom & Wild flowers and it was such a lovely surprise – they’re still going strong a week on <3

Dinner at ASK Italian

I went to ASK twice this month… oops! This time, for cheesy garlic bread, pasta and cocktails with Alice whilst she’s home on half term from Uni. We always have such lovely catch-ups!

Billionaire’s hot chocolate at Costa Coffee

I had an email from Costa Coffee on Thursday morning about a brand new drink, so I headed there for a treat before getting my hair done and boy, the Billionaire’s hot chocolate is VERY sweet and VERY delicious! I hope it’s part of the Christmas range and I’m so excited to try all of the Christmas range – who’s with me?!

Pumpkin carving

October wouldn’t be complete without some pumpkin carving, would it? James and I spent this weekend relaxing, eating takeaways, watching trashy weekend TV and carving these pumpkins – it was bliss!

October has been surprisingly busy and once again, full of food!

I’m looking forward to November as I’m going to Somerset with James to see my nan’s,ย and I have an exciting press trip with Visit Essex coming up!

What are your plans for November? ๐Ÿ™‚

I was immediately drawn to Ballie Ballerson! That place looks incredible! I didn’t even realise places like that existed, it looks like so much fun.

Congratulations on completing your apprenticeship and the permanent position, I bet you were so chuffed! The flowers look beautiful and it’s good they’re lasting too. Looks like you had a lovely October and sounds like the trips you have planned will make for a good November too.

I’ve got my parents coming to visit from Cornwall but nothing much planned at the moment. I’ve been a busy bee recently so some relaxing at home might do me good!
