July has been a really busy month for me, with a trip to Weymouth, attending an Essex food festival, a blogger event and taking the plunge in booking my first driving lesson!
Waterside Holiday Park & Spa
At the beginning of the month, I went to Weymouth with James and his mum for a week staycation in the wonderful seaside destination! We stayed in a lovely cosy caravan for a week and spent the days by the beach and the evenings in the sports bar with dinner, drinks and arcade games! It was such a lovely week and the weather was on our side – we all came back with a lovely golden brown tan!
Alcoholic slush puppies
Most evenings we sat by the beach eating fresh fish, crunchy chips and curry sauce – and sipping on delicious alcoholic slush puppies! The beach side bar had two flavours, strawberry daiquiri and pina colada, both of which were incredibly sweet and refreshing.
Ice cream by the sea
Have you even been on a beach side holiday if you haven’t eaten your body weight in ice cream? We visited the beach on two occasions and each time we tried different flavoured ice cream, including this delicious Mr.Whippy in vanilla and chocolate – with a flake of course!
Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre
On one of our day trips in Weymouth, we headed to Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre, a huge rescue centre for primates across the world that suffer abuse or neglect, especially those that are used in the illegal trade. It’s a great park and the space for the monkeys and chimps to enjoy are incredible! Well worth a visit if you find yourself in Dorset.
Lulworth Cove
It’s hard to believe that this is in the UK but it is! Lulworth Cove is a beautiful coastal beach, carved into the Jurassic coast by coastal erosion. There’s a car park at the top of cliff, and you can walk down a slop to get picturesque views of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The sea is a crystal blue and the sand white – it’s such a beautiful place!
Weymouth beach
Weymouth beach has recently been voted ‘The Best Beach in Europe’, so we made sure that we spent as much time as possible enjoying the beautiful white sand and warm, blue sea. We spent our time relaxing on the deck chairs and eating ice cream. It was incredibly relaxing, and I miss it so much!
Head massage at Waterside Holiday Park & Spa
I had a head massage whilst I stayed at Waterside Holiday Park & Spa and it was the most relaxing treatment ever. I really want to find a local salon where I live to book myself in for a head massage every few months.
Essex Food and Drink Festival
James and I headed to the Essex Food and Drink Festival one weekend and had a great afternoon exploring the various food and drink stands. James enjoyed a crispy bacon roll and I enjoyed some delicious Thai dumplings, and we both shared a delicious coconut water drink and elderflower cocktails! We brought home brownies to enjoy later on in the evening, which tasted SO delicious.
Recipe from The Body Coach cookbook
I want to start following more recipes and creating yummy food (as opposed to just tasting and reviewing it!) so I tried the chicken and chorizo dish from The Body Coach’s cook book. It was a delicious combination of chicken, chorizo, spinach and mozzarella – so good in fact I made another batch straight after for my lunch the next day.
Kingsford Park Spa VIP event
I was invited to Kingsford Park Bannatyne Spa for a VIP evening to view the brand new spa facilities! I went with my friend Chloe, and we had a lovely evening looking around all the new beauty treatment rooms, receiving complimentary beauty treatments and taking advantage of the fantastic offers on products throughout the evening.
Freakshakes at Queenie’s Cafe
I met up with Alice last weekend and we headed to Queenie’s Cafe to try out their brand new Smartie freakshake. It was a super delicious nutella chocolate milkshake, with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, a piece of chocolate fudge cake and a mini doughnut. The outside of the jar was decorated with nutella and smarties, too!
Tropical Wings Zoo
I went to Tropical Wings Zoo with my boyfriend James and sister Megan, and we had a great time exploring the walk-through butterfly enclosure and seeing all the super cute farm yard animals and birds.
I’m looking forward to seeing what August has in store for me. So far, I have a weekend anniversary trip to Brighton booked and a day ticket to V Festival in Chelmsford to enjoy!
What have you got planned this month?

Ice cream by the sea sounds so lovely, you always have to eat your body weight in ice cream when you’re at the beach haha. You’ve done so many things this past month, it sounds like a great summer so far!
