Allegroitalia Tower Plaza in Pisa

Allegroitalia Tower Plaza in Pisa

After our last successful trip to Budapest, we booked a trip to Pisa for the May bank holiday.

Our hotel in Budapest was incredible and I honestly didn’t think we’d ever find anywhere as good as that again – but Allegroitalia Tower Plaza is certainly up there!

Allegroitalia Tower Plaza

Just a 10 minute drive from the airport and a 20 minute walk to central Pisa, Tower Plaza is a great central hotel for getting out and about without worrying about having to book taxis or using buses.

Allegroitalia Tower Plaza in Pisa review

The view first and foremost is incredible; you can see The Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Basillica from the rooftop and front facing rooms. Our room was just on the side so we were just out of view annoyingly, but it can be clearly seen on the rooftop and at the reception.

We stayed in a twin room with a balcony. The room was bright and airy, with plenty of cupboard storage, a safe and mini fridge. The bathroom had a great walk in shower and large makeup mirror, and the beds were super comfy, too! The balcony was probably my favourite part – it was so nice to open the doors up and feel a warm breeze, and it was lovely to sit out on in the evening.

We visited at low season so the hotel was pretty quiet, but it was handy to walk around and grab a few photos!

Allegroitalia Tower Plaza in Pisa swimming pool

There’s a big outdoor pool and seating area which is in use between June and September. There’s also a spa but I would say that it’s a little misleading. We visited said “spa” which had a treadmill, a bike, an old armchair and a shower… so not the spa we were hoping for! But none the less, for those looking to fit in a quick cardio workout it would be a pretty handy room.

The reception feels grand, with beautiful marble floors and golden decorative features, art pieces and even a grand piano in the centre. There’s also a bar and restaurant and the ground floor to use, but we didn’t use the food facilities here.

The hallways look dark and cosy, with spot lights running along the bottom of the skirting boards. I loved the doors that led to the rooms as they looked like something out of a Bond film! The doors are dark brown with golden pipes running across, with easy access to the rooms using a key card.

Allegroitalia Tower Plaza in Pisa rooftop

We headed to the rooftop to take a few photos. It was pretty sparse there as they’re in the process of decorating it for the summer, but it would make an amazing location for enjoying drinks in the evening and watching the sun set over the Leaning Tower!

The hotel is in a great location for those who want to walk and visit the Leaning Tower and Basillica, but don’t want to pay a hefty price to stay in a hotel right beside it. It’s an easy 15-20 minute walk into the town along a main road, or a super quick 2 minute taxi ride gets you straight to the centre. The only other slight downside to the hotel is that the wifi is pretty sporadic – so not ideal if you’re going to be depending on it!

Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed our time in Pisa. The reception staff were super lovely and helpful, especially when it came to arranging a day trip to Florence. I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking at visiting Pisa.

I can’t wait to show you the food and drink we ate in Pisa, and what we got up to in the 72 hours that we spent in Pisa!

It looks like a beautiful hotel and only a short walk to the city centre is always good. I find you get much more for your money when you’re not in the middle of it. And you get to see things that you might otherwise miss.
