Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Essex

lifehouse spa and hotel gardens

I celebrated my 21st birthday last week and just had the best few days
with family and friends. My main present was a trip to Lifehouse Spa
& Hotel, for a relaxing 24 hours…

I had the most relaxing day, and I can’t wait to visit again! Here’s a little lowdown of the spa, the facilities available and many reasons why you need to visit ASAP!

The Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Essex

Lifehouse is in Thorpe-le-Soken is an adult-only award winning spa hotel, set in peaceful English Heritage Listed Thorpe Hall Gardens, close to Fronton-On-Sea.

With over 12 acres of English Heritage gardens to explore, there are beautiful views to be seen from inside and out of the spa. It’s a tranquil and unique spa for everyone to enjoy.

It’s an hour and twenty minutes by train from London, and just a ten minute drive from Frinton. The spa is contemporary, with airy spaces and long glass corridors. It really feels like you’re at one with nature.

There are over 89 rooms, with views of either the courtyard or the gardens. There are 35 treatment rooms, a restaurant, bar, a gym, outdoor fitness circuit, yoga studio, swimming pool, thermal spa area, relaxation area, manicure/pedicure stations, make up bays and a spa boutique.

The spa is for leisure or business, with plenty of meeting rooms and facilities to hold conferences and meetings.

My experience at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Essex

My Mum treated us to an overnight stay at the Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Thorpe-le-Soken in Essex. We had the Best Friend Package booked, which included checking into the hotel at 3pm, use of the spa facilities until 10pm, breakfast in the morning and use of the spa until the late afternoon!

The spa and hotel was incredible, you literally could not fault a single thing.

The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms spotless and clean and the spa facilities easy and fun to use!

We had a quick look around our room, where we had our own robes and slippers hanging up by the mirror, and had a little look around. The bathroom was super spacious and well lit, with a walk in shower and mini toiletries to use. The beds were super comfy and there was a makeup table with a large lit up mirror.

We stayed in the Mulberry section of the hotel, and we over looked the gardens which was just so beautiful. I wish we had been able to walk around the gardens, but at least I have an excuse to come again!

Birthday prin will be residing here all day πŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸ₯‚πŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸ’— mums booked me in for a surprise treatment later… I can’t wait to relax all day and zone out. It’s SO beautiful here πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸ™†πŸΌπŸ’†πŸΌ . . . . . #essexbloggers #essex #spa #lbloggers #relaxed #bbloggers #fbloggers

We relaxed in the pool and jacuzzi for the afternoon, and I had a couple visits to the salt inhalation room. I felt incredibly chilled out just walking around in my robes and slippers, and it’s such a relaxing and calming environment, the staff really make you feel welcome.

Mum and I went back to the room and got ready for dinner and prosecco! We had 3 courses and the main was by far the most impressive; a mediterranean vegetable lasagna with salad and stone baked garlic bread. If I could eat this every day… I’m pretty sure that I would!

This Mediterranean lasagna and stone baked parmesan garlic bread went down an absolute treat tonight πŸ΄βœ¨πŸ’— I’ve certainly missed eating all these healthy veggies!! πŸ†πŸ₯’πŸ₯•πŸŒ½πŸ… . . . . . Feeling pretty excited about turning 21 tomorrow now πŸ™ŠπŸŽ‰ can’t wait to lounge about in my robe tomorrow and get comfy in the jacuzzi again! #essexbloggers #essex #fdbloggers #lbloggers #spa

We set the alarm for 8, got our swimming costumes and robes on, and headed down for breakfast. My birthday breakfast consisted of a full english, orange juice and a couple of fresh pastries. It was so lovely looking out over the gardens and relaxing with our breakfast. It’s the most relaxing place I’ve ever been to, and I’m so excited to visit again.

We spent the second day dipping in and out of the swimming pools and jacuzzis, and I had a couple visits to the salt inhalation room.

Happy Saturday! πŸ˜„ I wish I was lounging about in this pool right now, @lifehousespa well and truly impressed me! Today, I’m off for a surprise treat from my best friend and I’ll be spending the rest of the weekend getting everything ready for my trip to Budapest next week!! ✈️πŸ₯‚ What are your plans for the weekend? . . . . . #essex #essexbloggers #spa #lifehousespa #lbloggers #bbloggers #fdbloggers #weekend #saturyay

Mum booked me a facial and head massage treatment for 12, so off I went for that.

I’ve never had a treatment before so I felt a little nervous, but Laura totally made me feel relaxed and at ease. I had a facial with various toners, moisturisers and oils, followed by a head and shoulder massage. Half an hour of pure, total bliss.

It made me realise that I really want to treat myself to a treatment each month, perhaps a head massage or facial. It made me feel really relaxed and calm, and it made me realise I don’t actually do anything to pamper myself, other than the odd bubble bath and hair mask now and again!

For the rest of the afternoon, we napped on the side of the pool, swam some more and then packed up our things and headed home.

We left the spa feeling incredibly relaxed and chilled, something we both needed to start the new year off with!

What spa trips have you been on? What treatment would you recommend?

Happy belated birthday, Hannah and sounds like you had a fabulous celebration with mum! I haven't been to a spa for years and reading this makes me want to start going again. You're right, we should pamper ourselves once a month.

I remember seeing these photos on your instagram account last week and I remember thinking 'oh I need some pampering myself' as I was going through a really stressful week. Your mum is the best and looks you had a great time! It's been ages since I had a massage, head massage is the best, it relaxes me so much πŸ™‚

Spa hotels are the absolute best because you get to fully immerse yourself! I totally agree the pampering yourself every so often is so important. As they say, treat yo self!xx, Pia
