Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I picked up Maybelline Fit Me Concealer whilst perusing the stand in Boots a few months back. I’d heard rave reviews about the concealer on twitter and blogs and, me being me, decided to pick it up to see what all the fuss was about. The main reason I wanted to try it was because it had been hailed the perfect dupe for the NARS concealer – pretty impressive stuff eh. But sadly, I am far from impressed with it.

First of all, I found all the shades to be really orangey-based. I have a fairly light to medium skin tone, so I was shocked to see how orangey the medium shade swatch was! I feel for paler ladies right now. The second reason I don’t like the concealer is because of how cakey it looks on. No matter what primer, moisturiser OR foundation I used it still went hideously flakey and crappy. I also found the lip of the bottle got grubby really quickly, no matter how much I tried to wipe it clean.

Over all, I’m really disappointed with this concealer. I had high hopes for it as it was deemed the number one dupe for the NARS concealer. I’m not one to write a negative review, but I feel like the product really does need improving!

Have you tried the Maybelline FIT ME concealer?

that's a shame! I'd been wanting to try this because the Nars concealer is so expensive!

Ahh that's such a shame! I haven't tried it before, but have always wanted to! I might just have to stick to Seventeens Phwoarr paint for now.

Aw no 🙁 I wanted to give this a try at some point, such a shame you didn't get on with it. I've heard mixed reviews about it myself, and not sure if I want to splash out on it or not!

I also have this concealer, and I can't decide whether I like it or not. I also bought it after reading lots of reviews, and agree that it's a little orangey. But, I still think it does a good job of concealing so now mix it with some lighter foundation!

That's so disappointing – I literally just read about this concealer a day or two ago in a magazine, saying how amazing it is! I'm super pale so I know to avoid anything which leans towards orangey!

Too bad this concealer didn't make a great impression. I actually just read a review about how great this concealer is and I've been hearing mixed reviews for a little while. My friend bought this concealer hoping for a heavy coverage and it just didn't make the mark. She's a little darker toned so the orange wasn't a problem for her. I liked the way it blended on her skin but I know I could never wear it because I'm quite fair as well. Thanks for sharing your review!!

I do feel that they have an odd/incomplete range of shades because some of my darker tone friends aren't able to find something that will fit, and I (even though I have a more beige skintone, so I do not have the fairest of fair skins) use one of the lightest shades. I would recommend choosing the lighter shades. I still find this concealer super creamy and not cakey so far!

I totally agree with you! The shades are very orange based. I have quite fair skin and the fair shade just works for my skin tone. I do not think this is a great concealer for those with porcelain skin. The Nars Creamy Concealer has far better color selection.Love your blog, btw!mylittlebeautybook.com

Oh no such a shame, I’ve always got on with this concealer. I have to agree it does look very orange in the tube 🙁 I have the lightest and found that worked for my skintone, I have to agree it does get quite grubby mine is nearly all used up but looks filthy 🙁

I really love the Revlon Colorstay concealer and I've heard a couple of bloggers saying it's a dupe for the Nars concealer! 🙂 I've tried the Fit Me powder before and it was quite nice but I even found the powder shades to be quite orange!

I have to agree with you here! I think the product is ok but I was expecting it to be amazing. I was really disappointed with the shade range too because I found that this was just a fraction too orange for me!xx

I don't really get on with this concealer either.. Doesn't really cover much for me! I'd hope its not like the nars one at all because I'd really like to try that! G.J – Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle

This is my favourite ever concealer, I love it, obviously not for everyone though. I find it gives good coverage and blends well. You do have to be careful with the colour you pick up because they're a bit confusing. Shade 10 is more orangey than 15 which I find is perfect for me, its pale and not at all orangey I find. Shame it didn't work for you though. Emma x Writing Essays With Wine
